Cameron Clow currently lives and works in Vancouver BC Canada on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh Nations.  

"I started learning neon in 1989 in Toronto Canada.  The fit was not perfect however: the reality of working in the sign industry is completely unlike being an art student or anything else I had experienced before.  Instead of giving it up and continuing on with my formal art education, I decided to "give it four years" so that I would at least completely master the skill before leaving the industry.  In those first few years I used neon in my art, with bands I played in and just generally tried to encorporate neon into my life. It was not easy to balance those competing themes and I can report it hasn't gotten any easier. 30 whatever years later here I am still doing the work and trying to find moments to create and learn.  The good news is I am interested in speaking with, working with and learning from other neon makers and doing everything in my power to help those who need some help.  I am also very interested in ensuring that neon shops are safe spaces for all, where we can celebrate differences, and be that much stronger for it. 

I am currently mentoring 2 apprentices who work with me at Concept Neon as we create neon for film, commercial and artistic projects.  I also am one half of the reality-based neon lifestyle network, "The Neon Trenches"
