Over the years, a variety of the "neobase" or other sculpture bases containing a transformer have been manufactured.  Some of these date back to the 1920s and 30s.  They became popular again in the 80s and a few are still made today.  I've even custom made a few of my own over the years to suit specific art pieces.  The center-to-center spacing of the electrode holders has varied by quite a bit.  I have seen some as little as 2" and others that were closer to 8 or 10 inches on center.  Does anyone out there know what the most common or most preferred spacing is now?....if someone was to begin producing a version of these today, what spacing would people want?

Thanks for posting on this. I'd vote for a base that has adjustable range of spacing between the electrodes, over having a fixed distance. Thanks -Robert
