After tiring of my job as an electrician I reached out to all the neon companies in my city for an apprenticeship in late 2016. The only person who got back to me was Steven Cole, with the offer of teaching me glass bending on Saturdays. So I did my first session with him at the start of 2017 and from there I was hooked. I purchased my own fires to practice more frequently at home. I also picked up work installing for Steven and other benders in Melbourne in 2018, continuing to bend as much as possible. Over the years I have exhibited my artwork in various group shows in Melbourne and Sydney. I have recently started taking on commission work and am lucky to have Steven to help me out with bending jobs that are beyond my current skill set. I look forward to spending the rest of my life getting better at glass bending, and also look forward to reading thru the articles and books the guild has to offer!!
