I learned to bend at The American School of Neon in Mpls. in 1987. I worked at St. Elmo's, Worldwide Neon, Nordquist Signs in Mpls., Absolutely Neon in Albq., Torcher, A-1, and Morry's Neon in Denver. In 1996 I lost an eye in an accident and had to relearn to bend with only one eye. I did that for four years. I used to say I was the best one-eyed tubebender in America. A rep from EGL told me there was a guy in Pittsburgh that was really good. So, I was the best one-eyed tubebender west of the Mississippi. In 2000 I left the shop and became a Waldorf teacher. I did that for 15 years. In 2015 I stopped teaching and went to college to get a degree in chemistry. I returned to Morry's as a layout man/restorer/technical advisor/yapper(unlike most tubebenders I know, I like to talk). I occasionally get in the fires but it is mostly for a dog and pony show. I do not bend for customers but love the old signs and am trying to save as many as possible. Happy to meet you all. Todd
