I have always loved neon signs and started researching how they were made. Jacksonville, FL is home to Norris Neon and I reached out in March 2025 to learn more about bending glass. Chris Petney has been kind enough to teach me. I'm practicing in my garage every day and watching Kory's YouTube channel at Bent Custom Neon for extra lessons and guidance. I've been living on 10mm and 12mm clear tubes, making OPEN and DINER signs in script and Helvetica. I do just about all my bends on a ribbon burner and welds in a fishtail fire. My bends and welds are starting to come out pretty good, but it has only been a year so I'm still figuring it out. I'm loving the process though.
