What do you all use for acrylic? I know many use wholesale, and I know of TAP and Canal Plastics, but wondering if anyone has a good source for boxes. I can get locally cut polycarbonate, which I prefer in a 1/4" size, but it's relatively expensive. I have the tools to cut it, but would just love a good source. Similarly, colorful acrylic backings? Mirrored? Any good sources for a neon newbie who's been mounting more these days? Thank you!

Hello Lila,

I would suggest finding a local supplier. Here in NC we have Piedmont Plastics. I have to buy large sheets from them, but they will cut them to any size I want for a small extra charge. My second suggestion is bending your own acrylic. You will save SO much money. Here is a link to a basic acrlyic bender DIY project. Mine is made from a 2x4 and does not have hinges but it gets the job done. For the mirroring question. I suggest this spray on mirror can. Its great, you need to practice to get an even coat but I have used it for a few infinity boxes and I really like the results.  (https://www.lowes.com/pd/Krylon-Specialty-High-Gloss-Silver-Mirror-Spray-Paint-NET-WT-6-oz/1000238735?user=shopping&feed=yes?store=&cm_mmc=shp-_-c-_-prd-_-pnt-_-ggl-_-PMAX_PNT_000_Priority_Item-_-1000238735-_-online-_-0-_-0&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=21801596590&gbraid=0AAAAAD2B2W8G2sObx-z2rmLxkq2yPYpcn&gclid=Cj0KCQiAxJXJBhD_ARIsAH_JGjgmeSj7C5rFmao2oT9g5xcqwd_NrWatoLWEUBS-C-4CBWQ5TD65kysaAo_REALw_wcB

Happy to help with any other questions you may have. I bend a lot of acrylic.

Hi Lila,
If you opt to build an acrylic bender as DJ suggested, I have some nicrhome wire that I can give you to use in the heater construction if you want it.
