Does anyone have a recommendation for a temperature gauge that you like? Right now, I have an old digital DACO gauge which I recently had the wire replaced in, but I'm not really sure that I like it. It doesn't clamp on well to tubes thinner than 12mm but I also suspect that it is not entirely accurate, and might be off by several degrees. I haven't been using my gauge much recently and have gone back to my old standby of a thermocrayon combined with newspaper. Although it works fine, I would prefer to know exactly what the temperature is at certain times during processing, but I can't seem to find a good recommendation for a temperature gauge. I've heard mixed things about the IR gauges. What is everyone using to measure glass temperature?

I have seen Mc-Master Car carries a wide variety of thermal crayons that one could use at each temperature point recommended by the electrode manufacturer. I wonder if this would be a better approach due to them having a 1% accuracy rating or maybe giving an indication if the temperature gauge is reading accurately thru the temperature range when bombarding.
