Hey folks! Here is a suggestion for those of you using glass flasks on your manifold, to help avoid glass bits being sucked into the stopcock when you crack open your flask. Make a "trap" by bending a dip in a piece of 15mm and splice it onto the stem of the flask before you attach it to your manifold.

The trap collects the glass bits so they don't make their way into the stopcock.

That's a good idea for those who cannot mount their flasks vertically.  I have also had people who put some screens or glass wool type material in the line for that purpose with good results.....even so, I myself, always advocate for vertical placement of the flasks--this has the added benefit of letting gravity work for you when breaking the seal--you simply lift the weight with the magnet and then let it fall onto the seal--no flicking or trying to sling it with the magnet.  I'm too lazy to try and throw it I guess.  :)
