In the fires
Things moved pretty fast here and the dust was flying, but the site should be about 90% done at this point. If you see anything that is weird or actually throws some sort of bug, please report it here so it can be exterminated.

Just thought I would pose a question here to try this feature out...

How do we post a blog and how do we view others? I'm not seeing where this can be done...

Howdy! I've been noticing that it can take 4 to 10 seconds typically when clicking on links on the neonmakersguild.org website before the content begins to load.  For example, when I click on the Resources->Library link, it took about 12 seconds before loading the content. It appears there is an initial lag when requesting the URL from the website host. This behavior is also occuring with my iPhone over AT&T cellular data.

Reporting this as a data point in case anyone else notices it. There is no similar lag when using other websites from my Comcast or AT&T internet service on the Notebook PC or iPhone.

My setup consists of the following:

  • ASUS Notebook PC GV601R
  • Ubuntu Linux 22.04 LTS with all updates
  • Google Chrome Version 109.0.5414.74 (Official Build) (64-bit)
  • Comcast cable internet sevice 300Mbps down / 30Mbps up
  • iPhone X with iOS 16.2 using Google Chrome latest version.
  • AT&T service over LTE

Thanks y'all!
-Robert

Hi Robert! Thanks for your feedback. The lag of the website is mostly a function of our web host. I've noticed a fluctuation in how fast or slow things load too. Our hope/plan is to increase our hosting capacity as our membership (and therefore the website usage) grows.

Howdy!  It looks like we are unable to post (upload) images in posts from mobile phones, such as an iPhone using Safari and Chrome web browsers. Is this expected?

The website consistently has lag response times of approximatly 2 to 15 seconds when navigating through internal links. I can provide more quantitative data on this if that's helpful.

Thanks a bunch, -Robert

Howdy! Following up on the previous post.  How do we insert images into a post, using a regular desktop web browser?  When I click on the insert image button at the top of the post menu, there is a dialog window that appears with a Source field.  This field is a text box only.  Looking at the documentation (https://www.tiny.cloud/docs/tinymce/6/image/), there appears to be an button to click in selecting an image file.  This is missing in the forum implementation here.  Ciao ciao, -Robert

Hi Robert. Sorry for the delay getting back to you. To address your first post...you should be able to load images to posts (to your member profile) on a mobile device. I just checked with my phone and it is working fine. I have an andriod phone and using chrome all the functionality is the same as a desk top.

We are aware of the slow loading times on the site and are working on that issue. Hopeing to have that resolved soon.

To your second question, posting images in the Forums is a little different in that the function of inserting an image into a forum post is currently unavailable. However, if you want to include an image (or video) into a forum post you could insert a link from an image sharing site like Imgur or YouTube.

I hope this helps!
