Danielle James is a Durham N.C. based neon bender, mixed-media artist and metalsmith whose works have been exhibited internationally. Currently a 5th-year neon bender, running her own company in called Hex Neon. She holds a MFA in Metalsmithing from East Carolina University and her BFA from Millersville University.

She chooses to highlight in her work, the relationship humans have with each other via social media and marketing outlets. Using certain materials and design elements her current work references a nostalgic American past while confronting the toxic relationship that is the myth of the American dream.
